Identity and Branding

Project:

Create marketing, advertising, tradeshow and sales literature and materials, as well as branding and identities, for a wide variety of Life Sciences products in collaboration with other creative staff over a four year period.

Issues:

Medical design work is driven by efficacy of impact, conservative design and technical accuracy of information three principles that require a delicate balancing act. No matter the size or scope of the project, we had to maintain all corporate standards and still display powerful imagery that clearly communicated the desired message.

Solution:

Working closely with senior creative team members, marketing personnel and "inside clients," we created works that not only carried the messages to their target audiences, but subtly expanded the boundaries of corporate standards to allow more freedom and greater impact for Bio-Rad's products, literature and materials. As we gained the trust of this client, we were brought in more frequently to stretch their corporate vision further, which allowed both the marketing and creative teams to grow and become more effective.

Outcome:

Bio-Rad experienced one of its greatest times of growth during our association with the company. HDG, along with the rest of the creative team, received several awards for effective, creative and/or original work including our Advertising Excellence Award for outstanding readership response (May 2002, Reed Business Information), from which we created several tradeshow and presentation displays, additional advertisements, posters and marketing materials.
